Ingredients :
500 gms shelled, deveined prawns
1 cup onion chopped
1 cup tomato chopped
1 tsp ginger - garlic paste
2-3 green chilli chopped
1 tsp corriander seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp Turmeric pd
1 tsp red chilly pd
1 tsp garam masala pd
3-4 dried red chillies
1 sprig curry leaves
1 tbsp chopped corriander leaves
50 ml coconut milk
100 gms grated coconut
Oil
Salt
Method :
Marinate prawns with salt, red chilly pd and turmeric pd.
Dry roast half the chopped onion, tomatoes, green chillies, corriander seeds, dried red chillies and grated coconut. Cool it and blend the mixture.
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, ginger - garlic paste, remaining chopped onion, curry leaves. Saute for few mins. Add the ground masala and saute till oil separates. Add turmeric pd, red chilly pd, garam masala pd and salt. Add the marinated prawns and let it simmer. Add 1 cup of water. Add coconut milk and simmer for 2 more mins on a low flame taking care not to overcook the prawns. Garnish with corriander leaves. Serve hot with steamed rice.
